We cover Lubbock and Lubbock County with no travel charge, plus Levelland in Hockley County and Plainview in Hale County on scheduled blocks. That is roughly a 45 mile radius from the city, and it takes in every town on the South Plains large enough to have a meaningful amount of concrete in it.
Scheduling is the only thing that changes by distance. Inside Lubbock County an assessment is usually available within a few days. For the two outlying county seats we run blocks rather than single trips, which is exactly how the per-square-foot rate stays identical to in town rather than picking up a mileage surcharge.

Each of these has local detail worth reading before you call anyone, because the reason concrete settles in Slaton is not the reason it settles in Wolfforth.

Distance changes when we can get there, not what it costs. Here is the honest version of both.

Distances are approximate driving distances. New Deal, Roosevelt, Ransom Canyon, Posey, Wilson and the surrounding farm roads are all inside the no-charge Lubbock County area even though they do not have their own page.
We do not drive 45 miles for one sidewalk panel, and pretending otherwise would just mean cancelling on you later. Small jobs in Levelland and Plainview go into the next scheduled county block, and we tell you that date when we quote rather than after you have committed. Larger and commercial scopes are scheduled directly.
The soil changes across the area
The Lubbock uplands, Wolfforth, Shallowater, Idalou, Slaton and most of Hockley County sit on Amarillo fine sandy loam and Acuff loam: well drained sandy soils at 18 to 35 percent clay, formed in the eolian deposits of the Blackwater Draw Formation over a calcic caliche horizon roughly 30 to 60 inches down. These wash out rather than heave.
Hale County around Plainview carries more Olton clay loam, at 35 to 50 percent silicate clay with moderately slow permeability. Heavier soil means more shrink and swell behaviour and less pure washout, so a slab there can drop in a dry spell and partially recover after rain. That needs measuring at a known moisture condition rather than on whichever day the call came in.
And anywhere in the area, a lot on a playa margin sits on Randall clay: very-fine, smectitic, poorly drained and frequently ponded for long periods. That soil genuinely heaves as well as settles, and it needs drainage written into the scope regardless of which town it is in.

Lubbock neighbourhoods, and what each one tends to need
Tech Terrace was established in 1925 next to Texas Tech and its homes date mostly from the 1930s, which makes it some of the oldest flatwork in the city. Maxey Park followed in 1928 around the hundred-acre park, with most of its housing from the 1950s. Both produce the same job: century-old or mid-century sidewalks and front walks with lipped joints, plus mature trees that make root heave a real second cause worth ruling out before anyone lifts anything.
LakeRidge in southwest Lubbock covers more than 600 acres between 82nd Street, Quaker Avenue, 98th Street and Slide Road, with development starting in the late 1970s. Vintage Township, south of 114th Street between Utica and Quaker, began construction in 2007. Newer areas like those settle for the opposite reason: fill that has not finished consolidating, rather than a century of moisture cycling.
Either way the assessment is the same and the honest recommendation differs. Older flatwork gets a thickness core and a hard look at whether it is past lifting. Newer flatwork is almost always sound concrete at the wrong elevation, which is the ideal case.

Do you charge extra to travel outside Lubbock?
No. There is no travel surcharge inside Lubbock County, and for Levelland and Plainview we schedule work in blocks rather than driving out for single small jobs, which is what keeps the per-square-foot rate identical to in town. The trade-off is that a small job in Hockley or Hale County may wait for the next scheduled day there, and we tell you that date when we quote.
How far out do you go?
Roughly a 45 mile radius from Lubbock, which reaches Plainview to the north, Levelland to the west, Slaton and Post to the southeast and Idalou to the northeast. Beyond that the drive stops making sense for a single day's work, though larger commercial scopes are assessed case by case. Ask and we will give you a straight yes or no rather than a maybe.
